Welcome to Corpulent Insanity Press, the new face of horror. Our goal is to showcase the finest (and goriest) talent in the small press, one author at a time.
Established in February 2007, CIP began its life by publishing the dark fiction ezine Midnight Horror. Submissions came slowly at first, but by the third issue such authors as Brian G. Ross, Eric S. Brown and Aurelio Rico Lopez III had become part of the Midnight Horror family. And its popularity continued to grow until its final hoorah.
Why horror?
Horror is a diverse genre. It has nurtured some of the most distinguished writers in literary history. Think Bram Stoker, H.P. Lovecraft, and Edgar Allan Poe. They were men who became legends by penning the mystic, the macabre, and the downright morbid.
There are so many sub-genres of horror that it’s difficult to identify each one. Splatterpunk, cyberpunk, dark fantasy, bizarro and pulp are only a few of them. Which is why horror is such a thriving genre. It has something almost everyone can enjoy.
